The Top Modules On My List
Submitted by GregoryHeller on May 12, 2008 - 4:45pm.
At the Vancouver DrupalCamp there were, of course, the inevitable questions about what modules people use regularly. Boris suggested at one point that people should add to the growing body of information out there about popular modules.
So here is my short list of modules i use on nearly EVERY site:
- CCK, plus various cck field modules like link, imagefield
- Views
- Panels2
- imagecache
I hope to roll these into an install profile with my favorite settings already configured. Look for it coming soon!

This module does a pretty good job of this - http://drupal.org/project/tinymce_autoconf.
I added a patch which adds some of the magic from the Bryght configuration and gets a little closer to an optimal standard install. The patch is at http://drupal.org/node/237310 (see http://drupal.org/patch/apply for how to apply the patch).
DrupalModules has tracking data for over 60,000 Drupal users. Check out the "most downloaded" section.

I do a lot of searching on the drupalmodules.com site, however, I'll say that I download modules that I decide not to use. The list I have provided is based both on my personal experience, and on stats from our own usage of modules on clients sites.
